In early September, Offshore Europe worked with EventIgnite to help their 50,000+ attendees plan their visit at the show. Eight EventIgnite Interactive Flooplans were installed in different spots around the show.
For the first time at a major exhibition, visitors were able to quickly locate exhibitors, products and conference sessions on a fast, user-friendly, interactive floorplan that contained all the event information, always up-to-date.
In addition, integration with the official registration provider Circdata enabled EventIgnite to personalise the floorplan for every visitor by displaying matching exhibitors and products, based on that visitor’s registration profile.

To view their personalised list, visitors simply scanned their badge. Visitors were then sent an email containing their list with an interactive map they could use on their mobile. Shortlisted exhibitors were sent to each visitor via email that contained a checklist and an interactive map, see example below:
After the event, detailed, anonymous analytics were made available to the organisers: how many visitors used the floorplans? And which ones were used the most / the least? For how long? Which exhibitors and products were they searching for? Most shortlisted exhibitors? And other relevant statistics that will inform the next edition of the show.
What worked? What didn’t work?
+ Very good user experience – fast, responsive interactive floorplan and all relevant event information including conference sessions, venue & transport information & more, with full search capability
+ Personalised recommendations – for visitors who scanned their badge, matching exhibitors were highlighted
+ Shortlisted exhibitors and sessions sent via email to visitors, accessible on their mobile devices
+ Detailed analytics – how many visitors used the floorplans? And which ones were used the most / the least? For how long? Which exhibitors and products were they searching for? Most shortlisted exhibitors?
– Delivery on-site could have been smoother on Day 1, having a dedicated digital signage technician would have prevented any set-up issues
– Location of the Interactive Floorplans – freestanding, branded “Plan Your Visit” screens or “Plan Your Visit” hubs near seating areas or entrances may work better and would encourage all visitors to walk up and browse what’s on, see matching exhibitors and sessions and use their down-time to work out what to do next.
